I have been on induction this past week and seem to be having trouble with the keto stick getting above the middle pink. I have scrambled eggs for breakfast, tuna, boiled egg salad for lunch, and meat and salad for dinner. I will also have cheese roll-ups with ham sometimes at dinner and I am very careful with the carb count of things. I drink at least 64 oz of water a day and it is flavoured but says zero for carbs, sugar etc but I did notice that it is flavoured with aspartame. Could this be hampering things or am I just one of those people that are real resistant? I am not really hungry anymore but I do miss my candied (crystallized)ginger as a snack, treat and addiction...lol but that is only because I have not found out how many carbs are in each slice. I do drink about 3 cups of black coffee a day. So far the scale is still stuck and not moved. Thanks for any help (encouragement)given.

I have lost almost 100lbs, on atkins using products containing aspartame However, I need to lose 50 more and I have found that aspartame does effect the amount of weight lost. Switch to splenda products. I drink mostly water, but a few waist watcher soft drinks. Good luck...

Murph, thanks so much for the info. I have also found that caffeine is hindering the process as well. Working on cutting down on coffee as well although I drink it black. |

Elaine, I have found a fruit flavored water called Friot 2 O. It has no carbs, non-carbonated, noi calories and is sweeted with spenda. I live in the Washington, D.C. area and I have found in Safeway stores. I understand that Wal-Mart is suppossed to start carrying it. |

I had'nt thought about flavored water, I would like to try the one that is sweetened with splenda. I have found that most artifical sweetners make me retain water. I have alot of weight to lose and it seems that low carb is the only thing that has ever been sucessful for me. I was doing very well losing weight and then I got a kidney infection and the doctor told me to stay off the diet for a week, then I had a terrible time getting back on it. Then the same thing happened again and now I am having one heck of a time getting started again. I don't think that I am drinking enough water. I have a terrible time drinking water, so maybe the flavored water is the way to go. |
