Stick with it... the amount of the initial weight loss is also related to how much you have to lose total. Some say 10% in the first two weeks is normal.
Are you getting "sneaky carbs" from somewhere? Using half-n-half in your coffee/tea instead of real cream (they're NOT the same!). What about caffeine? Drinking diet soda with aspartame? (Everything but Diet Rite has aspartame and some people are really sensitive to aspartame)
Atkins works. I used it when it first came out in the 70's and lost 76lbs. But back then there wasn't NEARLY as much support and NO commercially available foods/mixes/bars/snacks etc. So I went off it... and you know the story.
Now I'm back, and I know this will work. Write down EVERYTHING that goes in your mouth for a week and check it against a good carbohydrate counter/list. You may find that some of the things you're eating have more carbs than you know.
Also know that sweetners have carbs. Even approved things like Sweet 'n Low or Splenda. And they count against the daily total as well (this is something I have to be very careful of, personally).
Hope some of this helps, and good luck! |
