I AM HAVING A PROBLEM UNDERSTANDING CARBS, MY DOCTOR SAID THAT 15G EQUALS 1 CARB, IN SOME OF THE RECIPES HERE I AM NOT SURE IF IT IS 15G OR 15 CARBS, PLEASE HELP ME. I HAVE JUST BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH DIABETES AND NEED SOME HELP UNDERSTANDING FATS AND CARBS.

The Atkins site has a carb counter that is very helpful. They will also e-mail you with the carb count of something not listed. Each of his books also contains a carb counter, too. I am sure there is information on other lo-carb sites on the internet. Just try one of the search engines like Google, and type in Carb Counter. It's easy once you get the hang of it. My rule of thumb is... no grain, milk, pasta, potatoes, bread, rice... they are all carbs, and check the carb count of vegetables and don't go overboard on quantity.
